Abstract

The Human Protein Atlas (HPA) is a Swedish-based program with the aim to map of all the human proteins in cells, tissues and organs using integration of various omics technologies, including genomics, transcriptomics, antibody-based imaging, mass spectrometry-based proteomics and systems biology. The Human Protein Atlas program has been selected by the organization ELIXIR as a European core resource, due to its fundamental importance for a wider life science community. The Swedish SCAPIS SciLifeLab (S3) Wellness Profiling program, which was initiated with the goal to define a wellness profile in a population of healthy individuals based on state-of-the-art molecular analyses. In the ongoing pilot study, 101 healthy volunteers have been followed longitudinally for two years with repeated health controls and extensive sampling complemented with activity monitoring using wrist band, life style questionnaires and standard clinical diagnostics. The samples from the first year have been analyzed using a large number of platforms and the data include several complementary proteomics platforms, immunology, genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and microbiome analyses as well as activity data.
