Abstract

In the NBIS Health and Clinical team, we are developing procedures for code development in projects with sensitive data, in particular syncing code development in the local environment using mock data with deploying on Bianca on real data. The current development is intended to address several issues with splitting work between environments and syncing through the wharf: - keeping track of multiple file changes using manifests and file deployment scripts with the wharf structure - monitoring for and prohibiting transfer of sensitive data - generating life-like mock data useful for local development where web access and claude code can be of great help - (local/host) ownership of transfers and updates - syncing code to github for reproducibility/FAIR and communication with research groups and collaborators - etc etc In September we're planning for a hackathon session to test the prototype, collect bugs, get input on additional features and hopefully solve some of the issues. To minimize potential impacts on data security, we would like to perform this hackathon/testing session in a “live” Bianca environment, however where there are no real sensitive data and we therefore ask for this project.
