Abstract

Platinum resistance is a major challenge in the treatment of ovarian cancer and often develops after repeated exposure to platinum-based chemotherapy. Identifying molecular signatures associated with resistance may improve the prediction of treatment response and reveal potential therapeutic targets. This study aims to develop and validate a gene signature for platinum resistance in ovarian cancer. Transcriptomic data from platinum-resistant and platinum-sensitive ovarian cancer cells will be analyzed to identify differentially expressed genes. Selected genes will be used to develop a candidate signature capable of distinguishing resistant from sensitive phenotypes. Epigenomic data will then be integrated with the transcriptomic findings to refine the signature and identify regulatory networks associated with altered gene expression. Finally, the predictive performance and clinical relevance of the candidate genes and platinum-resistance signature will be evaluated in independent ovarian cancer patient datasets. This study may provide a clinically relevant molecular tool for predicting platinum response and identifying regulatory network that could be targeted to overcome treatment resistance.
