The Functional Microbial Ecology group at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment (SLU), led by prof. Stefan Bertilsson, use large scale environmental sequencing data (metagenomes, metatranscriptomes, single cell genomes) to reconstruct microbial genomes and understand their metaboplic and evoltuionary properties. Study objects range from lakes to Baltic Sea and Polar Oceans. This project is to serve (in a coherent and coordinated way) the entire reseaerch group under the indicated PI. NOTE: This serves as continuation of two different earlier projects: NAISS 2025/5-314 (medium compute) and NAISS 2025/6-213 (medium storage) which have now been consolidated here as per the new guidelines.
