Abstract

Waim to generate RNA-Seq data of transcriptional activity of mast cells in response to the major fungal pathogen Candida albicans. The yeast can infect mucosal tissues from immunocompromised individuals and from there spread to deeper tissues or cause sysemtic infections. Mast cells serve as sentinels in mucosal tissues, however, there responses upon fungal infections are porrly understood. With the RNA-Seq data we hope to inspire functional and mechanistic study which will outline the in vivo contribution and relevance of mast cells during fungal infections.
