As a member of the Fredrik Bäckhed group, I have made significant progress in identifying mobile genetic elements (MGEs) within global Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) metagenomic cohorts during the previous period. I am requesting an extension to finalize the high-intensity computational processing, specifically the large-scale de novo assembly and comparative genomic mapping of these elements across thousands of samples. Given the massive data volume and the complexity of MGE detection algorithms, the high-performance computing resources at PDC (Dardel) remain essential for the completion of this research and its subsequent publication.
