Abstract

The proposal revolves around several machine learning projects in the field of multimodality fusion tasks. We currently envision the following projects throughout the duration phase of this application: AI-Driven Multimodal Systems for Winter-Resilient Transportation (WiReTEN-C) https://www.ltu.se/forskning/centrumbildningar-och-samarbeten/centrum-for-distansoverbryggande-teknik/vara-projekt/projektarkiv/2026-02-23-wireten-c-winter-resilient-trans-european-network--collaboration Transportation systems in northern and Arctic regions face unique challenges due to extreme winter conditions, including heavy snowfall, reduced visibility, road surface variability and rapidly changing environmental conditions. These factors significantly affect perception systems, traffic monitoring, and autonomous mobility technologies. There is therefore a strong need for intelligent systems capable of understanding complex environmental conditions and adapting to them in real time. Cross-border Innovation and Research for Creative & Immersive Transformation (CIRCUIT) https://www.ltu.se/forskning/centrumbildningar-och-samarbeten/centrum-for-distansoverbryggande-teknik/vara-projekt/projektarkiv/2025-11-21-circuit---cross-border-innovation-and-research-for-creative--immersive-transformation The increasing adoption of immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and extended reality (XR) creates new opportunities for intelligent digital environments that combine artificial intelligence with interactive visual experiences. However, current immersive systems often lack intelligent data processing capabilities that allow them to adapt dynamically to user behaviour and contextual information.
