The project will investigate the use and shape of conceptual metaphors related to emotions in my corpus of pre-modern Greek fiction narratives. This will be a natural next step in my doctoral project about applying NLP methods to these texts, which has not previously been done. The proposed method is to train an LLM to recognize and extract conceptual metaphors used to express or describe emotions with terms related to force, violence, constraint and such. Similar investigations have been performed before, but only on a smaller part of my corpus, and only with manual methods.
