We are performing studies on mammal, insect, fish, plant genomics and metagenomics to look at conservation strategies in relation to genetic diversity on genome scale. In total we work on around 10 insect, plants and fish projects. The data consists of approx 20-100 genomes per species sampled throughout their distribution range. We also process metagnomic data with samples number randing from 10 to 100. Finally, we also use whole-genome sequencing data to perform large-scale analyses (effective population size, population structure and dispersal patterns, genome-wide) for the genomic monitoring of Baltic seals and porpoises. NB!! We apply for a renewal of both this project and NAISS 2025/6-55, which should be merged into a single project.
