Abstract

Ab initio molecular dynamics to model the interaction between various contaminants and nanoparticle surfaces. Interactions studied are mainly adsorption of polyfluorinated substances and medicine residuals, either in molecular or aggregated form, in aqueous solvent. Slab geometries are used as initial approximations of real surfaces. Goal is twofold; One is to model surface functionalizations as a screening step. The other is to interpret experimental results.
