The collection of microorganisms in our gut has an immense potential to produce bioactive metabolites that can affect our metabolism. Our group is working on deciphering how the microbiome is associated with type 2 diabetes. We are generating large omics datasets and are thus in need of data storage.
Through this effort, we aim to generate a high-resolution, integrative resource for investigating the genetic and functional landscape of the T2D-associated gut microbiome. This resource will not only facilitate mechanistic studies of microbial contributions to T2D but also support the identification of potential microbial biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
