Abstract

PhD project about High-fidelity modelling of railway infrastructure with DEM-FEM. Here we investigate the effects of dynamic loads on the ballast layer in railway tracks specifically at transition zones. One work package of the project includes the investigation of reduced-order modelling, where AI techniques will be trained based on simulation data to research real-time solutions.
