The project is a survey of 820 publicly available metagenomes of inlands waters it has been cleaned, taxonomically classified with Kraken2 and a custom database, and functionally annotated with humann3 and uniref90. The functionally annotated abundance tables were used to construct correlation networks. Most recently the methane, nitrogen, vitamin B12, and sulfur cycling genes have been analysed in detail and compared across the dataset.
