Abstract

The "Code Agents: AI-powered end-to-end solutions for flexible manufacturing" project aims to enhance manufacturing systems by integrating AI and automation, specifically through robotics and PLCs. It focuses on developing Code Generation and Validation Agents based on Generative AI (GenAI) to create adaptive, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes. By leveraging AI technologies, manufacturers can achieve higher productivity, lower costs, and improved quality. The project addresses the need for flexible operations in manufacturing, currently limited by static programs requiring manual updates. GenAI enables devices to learn from programming data and feedback loops, adapt to changing environments, and collaborate with other automated systems and humans. It also emphasizes trust in AI technology, ensuring transparency and collaboration between humans and AI. The consortium includes researchers, engineers, and experts from various fields, ensuring access to the latest technology and future scale-up of outcomes. The project is organized into four work packages: Project Coordination & Results Dissemination, Model and Algorithm Development, Testing and Evaluation, and Business Case Validation and Servitization, each with specific objectives, methods, and deliverables.
