This project is a mixed of projects including one focused on trait-based diversification in bromeliads, and a second one we will utilize DNA metabarcoding to analyze bat fecal samples (guano). The primary assignments are: 1. ddRAD and Genome skim analyses to produce a dated molecular phylogeny; 2. Use trait data to develop hidden-state diversification models (e.g. HiSSE) to test for correlations between speciation rate and pollination syndrome; 3. Bioinformatic processing of raw sequencing and downstream analyses for metabarcoding for bats.
