Studies have suggested that women who have been victims of violence are more likely to miss their cervical cancer screening (CCS). There is a lack of empirical studies on the specific barriers to attending CCS among abused women. The objective of this study was to explore possible reasons behind non-attendance in CCS among women subjected to violence in Sweden.
We have conducted a cross-sectional study using an online questionnaire. Recruitment was facilitated through a national support platform for women who have experienced various forms of violence. To maximize inclusivity, the questionnaire was available in Swedish, English, Persian, and Arabic.
We will also conduct interviews face-to-face for an in-depth exploration of barriers to non-attendance.
