This project focuses on the process simulation of a composite helmet in collaboration with industry partner Mips. Working alongside two master's students, we aim to develop and run efficient Abaqus simulations utilizing bespoke material models to accurately represent the manufacturing process. By capturing material movement, final thickness variations, and potential defect formations, our simulations will enhance the understanding of processing effects. This improved process modeling will contribute to more accurate structural simulations of the helmet, ultimately supporting the optimization of its performance and safety.
