The NESSA (Neutron Source at Uppsala) project aims to establish a 14 MeV neutron beamline at Uppsala University for fundamental and applied research in neutron physics. A crucial aspect of this project is conducting Monte Carlo radiation transport simulations to optimize beamline design, assess radiation safety, and explore various physics models related to neutron interactions. These simulations will provide theoretical insights into neutron transport, shielding requirements, and activation effects in surrounding materials. Given the computational intensity of such studies, we seek access to core computing facilities to ensure accurate and efficient modeling. The results will contribute to the safe and effective operation of the neutron source while advancing research in neutron-induced reactions and radiation protection.
