Abstract

In this project, we will assess the ecological and evolutionary consequences of among-population reproductive trait variation in unisexual bryophytes. To do this, we will use population genomics to characterize the levels of genetic variation and the large-scale spatial genetic structure of populations of the terrestrial moss Pseudoscleropodium purum across its entire distributional range. Additionally, we will reconstruct the biogeographic history of the species in order to infer the relative contribution of sexual and asexual reproduction to colonization processes in this species.
