Abstract

This project is based on the data for my ERC consolidator project that examines the effect of feralisation on the methylome, genome and transcriptome of the chicken. We have a project currently (SNIC 2022/5-577). We currently have 15X coverage from over 500 chickens, plus transcriptomes from a further 1.5k birds also now uploaded. We are currently re-mapping the data to Gal7, which has been shown to be a much better genome than the previous Gal6 build (for Red Junglefowl). This means we will use quite a bit more computing power, at least for the first half of the year. In addition, we have also generated a massive amount of single cell Multiome data this year (combined RNA and ATAC seq data). This data consists of 6 S4 novogene flowcells (60billion reads), and analysis is also ongoing on this project. We are analysing this in combination with a long term Bioinformatic support (NBIS) grant, but are currently also remapping to Gal7.
