Abstract

Thermal runaway of Li-ion batteries is a crucial challenge, especially for large-scale batteries. Experiments for these batteries, however, are difficult to conduct. Therefore simulation models are rather important to develop safe batteries. This project will focus on heat release of a battery cell during thermal runaway and the heat transfer behavior through a battery module. Experimental data will be used to calibrate the model.
