This project aims to predict the foraging ranges of the world's seabirds. After compiling foraging range data from 14,000 individuals across 79 species, I plan to correlate these values with morphological traits within a Bayesian framework. Once the best predictive model is identified, we will extrapolate our findings to all seabird species and colonies. Finally, we will compare our predictions with existing and proposed Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) to assess the effectiveness of these areas and identify underprotected species and colonies, supporting future conservation priorities.
