In TACK-II, the aim is to develop an autonomous. Inspection and assessment system for hard rock tunnels. This is based on a hybrid approach using photogrammetry, deep learning and numerical simulations. This project focuses on the numerical simulations of the structural risk associated with cracks in the concrete lining used to support hard rock tunnels. Here, the aim is to develop a numerical framework suitable for non-linear simulations of the non-linear response of concrete. The work includes the development and verification of material models to simulate the cracking response of concrete, tuning of numerical models based on experimental data as well as simulations of reducing structural capacity for the concrete lining when existing cracks are introduced.
