Abstract

This subproject, part of the THRESHOLD project (ERC-grant - Paul Kardol), aims to investigate non-linear responses of ecosystem components across elevational and temperature gradients. We are currently processing two sets of soil microbial data (ITS and 16S amplicons): one from elevational gradients, representing treelines across multiple countries, and another from a controlled growth chamber experiment where temperature is manipulated. To achieve our goals, computational resources are required for sequence data processing, bioinformatics analyses, and ecological modeling. These analyses will allow us to explore microbial community shifts and their potential feedbacks on ecosystem functions in response to environmental changes.
