Storage will be used for microscopy imaging data from the Elflab@scilifelab UU.
This resource will be shared by a number of reserach projects running in the labs of Johan Elf (elflab.icm.uu.se), Magnus Johansson (https://www.uu.se/en/department/cell-and-molecular-biology/research/molecular-systems-biology/johansson-lab) and Daniel Jones (https://www.uu.se/en/department/cell-and-molecular-biology/research/molecular-systems-biology/jones-lab). There are large synergies between the different projects running it the different research groups and thus a shared resource is highly useful. In total there are 28 researchers in the three different labs.
Most research projects produce microscopy images and the analysis, post-processing, figure generation, etc. is carried on using cpu-hours from the p2018001 project in which the labs have invested in cpu-hours. The labs have also invested in cpu and gpu-hours in the upcoming UU compute resource. An analysis of the day-to-day resource usage available in SUPR show that we during the last year produced 41Tb and deleted 27Tb.
Research projects associated with the storage project runs over multiple years and the data generated is in active use throughout the ongoing projects. After the projects is finished the data is moved to the uppoff2021005-project, where the labs have invested in 100Tb of storage, for long-term storage. During the last years 12Tb of data associated with published papers and preprint manuscripts were deposited in the uppoff2021005 project.
The research projects were funded by grants from ERC, VR , SSF and KAW.
