Abstract

InShipTRASE, both near-term and long-term solutions to shipping emission reduction and control mechanisms will be analysed. The potential environmental impacts on the lower atmosphere and upper ocean include those pollutant emissions from ship smokestacks and liquid discharge, as well as increased methane-induced greenhouse warming. The simulations are performed using atmospheric and ocean models for the baltic (ECA) and Mediterranean sea(non-ECA) region to assess pollutants' impact and provide perspective to the region's economic and shipping regulatory mechanism.
