By the European Green Deal Sweden is required/recommended to transfer 30 per cent of its forests from business-as-usual clear-cut based forestry to closer-to-nature-forestry. This project investigates how the trade-offs between climate change mitigation and wood productivity are affected by several approaches of implementing such a transition. To that end, we simulate several boreal forest management strategies implemented as discrete compartmental systems on hundreds of Swedish forest stands simultaneously.
