Abstract

Our research is focused on understanding the functional and evolutionary basis of multipartite parasitic interactions specifically in freshwater ecosystems. this includes interactions between viruses and their bacterial hosts. Our approach is to combine integrated analysis of freshwater multi-omics datasets with experimental strategies on cultured host-parasite model systems. I follow this research line within the scope of my ERC starting grant, Formas and VR projects with 1 PhD student and 3 PostDocs actively working on different datasets. For reproducibility purposes we are currently developing a nextflow pipeline for virus identification and require these resources for that. We will also use these resources to run this pipeline on metagenomic data we generate and public ones. Pipeline development is currently ongoing and we desperately need these resources. After completion this pipeline will be a valuable resource for the community!
