Biodiversity loss is a major problem world wide. We study genetic diversity and are currently developing strategies and indicators for this level of biodiversity. The work is carried out with funding from Formas, VR and in collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM) and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). We focus on species identifies as particularly relevant by the agencies. The present project concerns spatio-temporal data from salmonid fishes (brown trout and Arctic charr) and moose. We are interested in computing time to be able to estimate several parameters of interest as well as exploring trends in these parameters and investigate potential indications of selection over space (local adaptation) and time (adaptation over time).
