The Functional Microbial Ecology group at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment (SLU), led by prof. Stefan Bertilsson, use large scale environmental sequencing data (metagenomes, metatranscriptomes, single cell genomes) to reconstruct microbial genomes and understand their metaboplic and evoltuionary properties. Study objects range from lakes, groundwater, Baltic Sea,Polar Oceans, wetlands and animal associated microbiomes. This project is to serve (in a coherent and coordinated way) the entire reseaerch group under the indicated PI.
