Abstract

Recent theoretical research in population genetics has suggested that recurrent positive selection can lead to weak draft, i.e. genealogies that are reduced in height but without distortion in branch lengths. In this project we will use forwards simulations to investigate whether changes in fitness optima over time can lead to weak genetic draft. Simulations will be performed using SLiM under a range of parameter values.
