The objective of the project is the analysis of genomic data to investigate the genetic consequences of the agricultural transition in Africa. We will uncover patterns of migration and adaptation of different human populations with bioinformatic and population genetics approaches. Particularly, the continuation of the Small Compute Project will allow the analysis of ancient DNA samples from pre-farming and post-farming archaeological contexts that will highlight patterns of migration that are not possible to reveal with current-day samples.
