Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is one of the greatest threats to public health globally. To guide the first choice of treatment, health care needs information about the prevalence of resistant pathogens in the community. However, traditional surveillance is laborious and expensive. This project brings together competencies at the Dept of IT and Dept of ICM to develop techniques for assessing resistance severity from wastewater samples and metagenomic sequencing. Sensitive personal data is not used in this project.
