Abstract

While the technological revolution has significantly contributed to innovation and economic growth and improved the standards of living, there has been growing interest among scholars from diverse disciplines to explore the processes of how technologies become obsolete and undesirable and why. In the context of a fast-paced industry like Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, the sociological perspective of knowledge can be crucial in demonstrating how it is maintained/(re)-produced/protected and what it means in technological decline/ destabilisation/ discontinuation. By employing socio-semantic network to analyse knowledge evolution, I will investigate the mechanisms of network in technological decline.
