Tumor development is regulated by both cell intrinsic and extrinsic mechanisms. We are specifically interested in understanding how the communication between tumor cells and the microenvironment is regulated and more importantly how infiltrating immune cells influences tumor growth, maintenance, and spread. We are studying how genetic, epigenetic, and transcriptional changes are regulating mechanisms important for tumor development and the microenvironment in both human and mouse samples.
