The immune system is always complex and includes many different immune cell types, and molecules which function together to fight against the infection. The outcome of these interactions varies between individuals and populations depending on genetic and environmental factors. Here in this project, we are exploring how genetically different ethnic groups respond toward the malarial parasite, Plasmodium falciparum. Several studies showed that Fulani shows more resistance toward P.falciparum. Here we are investigating the role of genetics and epigenetic determinants involved in this immune response.
