This project aims at investigating the genetics of translocated musk ox populations. It builds on a recently published study "Population genomics of the muskox’ resilience in the near absence of genetic variation" by Pečnerová et al. (2023, Molecular Ecology). We already have and will generate more modern and historical genomes from translocated musk ox populations. This will allow us to measure how well conservation efforts worked in different areas.
