Scombridae is a relatively small family of marine fishes. Most members of this family are highly valued commercial fishes with high economic importance. Many independent research groups study the genomics of the group without really anyone focusing on their phylogenomic relationships. In this project we aim to download the available genomic information of the group, complete it with the sequencing of whole genomes of the key lineages which are not available, and generate a genomic dataset to resolve the phylogenetic relationships of the members of this family.
