Here we propose a joint storage project for all research performed by Master students at the Human Evolution program at the department of Organismal Biology, Uppsala University. Our program consists of five research groups that all aim to increase the knowledge of human evolution by analyzing whole genome sequences of modern and ancient humans as well as ancient domesticated plants and animals. This storage project will complement our large storage project SNIC 2021/2-17 as we keep the working area for Master students separate from all data used and generated by more senior researchers.
Research projects performed by the master students will be of similar nature as other research projects in our program. The students will analyze genome data from both modern and ancient populations. Furthermore, some project will involve method development and testing including the simulation of large genomic data sets. All finished master theses will be mentioned in the yearly activity report.
For performing downstream analyses of these program shared genomic resources, we have several ongoing small compute projects.
