Abstract

This is a continuation of a proposal where we performed instance segmentation on 3D scan data which are tiff images from rat intestine track. We now extend the project to nerve cell data as well and much more tomography data. The project will therefore continue with the origination segmentation of glomeruli in rat data but also with segmenting nerve cells in tomography images. Once the images are segmented then we need to estimate the volume of each such glomeruli and from those estimates we believe we can, based on information from physicians, ascertain disease or not for each case. We already have setup the relevant machine learning algorithms and environment at Alvis but require extra storage in swestore for the processed data on that project. Also, we would like to note that the initial project work was slowed down until some of the data was acquired. We now seem to have all such data and will be moving them to the storage space.
