Abstract

Inspired by the clinical heterogeneity of schizophrenia(SCZ), as well as the consistent symptomatic and genetic overlap between SCZ and mood disorders, we aimed to leverage transdiagnostic genetic liability to SCZ , bipolar disorder(BP) and major depressive disorder (MDD) to decipher SCZ clinical features. We will use Genomic Structural Equation Model (gSEM) to extract the shared genetic component and genetic components specific to SCZ, BP and MDD. We will later calculate PRSs for these components (i.e. PRS-shared, PRS-SCZ-specific, PRS-MDD-specific and PRS-BP-specific) and test the associations between these PRSs and SCZ risk as well as a wide range of clinical characteristics of SCZ (i.e. number of clinical diagnoses, drug prescriptions, inpatient days, and hazards for psychiatric comorbidities).
