Abstract

The gut microbiome in humans starts forming around birth and is mature at c. 2 years. In this project, we combine newly sequenced data from human infants with freely available data from non-human primates to investigate the timing, order and conservation of this important process. Additionally, for the human data, we will assess whether the pregnancy microbiome can help predict health outcomes in the peripartum period.
