The InParanoiDB database [1] is a well known resource, including ortholog predictions between a wide variety of species. However, as the number of sequenced genomes continues to grow, the need for orthology databases to cover more species has increased dramatically. Seeing that prediction of orthologs on the level of protein domains does provide additional information that can not be inferred from predictions on the full protein sequence level [2], with Domainoid performing well in the QFO benchmark [3], adding information on domain orthologs could be a valuable contribution to ortholog databases. We use this resource to build InParanoiDB.
