The homeostasis of center nervous system critically relies on proper functional brain vasculature through its role on nourishment delivery and blood-brain molecular exchange regulation. Dysfunction in human cerebrovasculature contribute to pathogenesis of multiple neurological disease, and the blood brain barrier (BBB), an organotypic specialization of cerebrovasculature, impedes the delivery of systemic therapies for nearly all brain disorders.
Hence, by characterising the mouse brain vasculature in physiological and pathological conditions with single cell RNA sequencing could inform our understanding of disease mechanisms and facilitating development of novel therapeutic strategies.
