Abstract

We are starting a new project to better understand the plasticity of fungal genomes. Specifically, we are interested in which genes are correlated with the movement and function of some extremely large transposible elements in fungal genomes. Using publicly available RNAseq experiments (i.e. from NCBI SRA) which have already been published in model fungal species (i.e. Aspergillus), we hope to identify genes that are expressed in association with gene known to contribute to the movement/function of these large transposible elements.
