This is a VR funded project (2020-06460) that aims to utilize a large lake water quality dataset to explain long-term trends in the oxygen concentration of freshwater lakes in Scandinavia and North America. We would like to use SNIC resources to fit a hierarchical generalized additive model (GAM) to our dataset, in order to identify trends and explain temporal patterns in our data. The continuation of this project will facilitate fine-tuning of the model as we submit our first manuscript, and in case a reviewer comment requires further HPC analyses (e.g. model adjustment or incorporation of new climate variables).
