Abstract

The SciLifeLab BioImage Informatics Facility (BIIF) supports researchers in the field of biology with state-of-the-art image analysis using computer vision, machine learning and bioinformatics. For example, this includes - but is not restricted to - the development of deep learning-based image segmentation models tailored to the specific dataset/imaging modality at hand. The BIIF is a unit of the National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS), with funding from SciLifeLab, the National Microscopy Infrastructure (NMI), and the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). Support projects range from a few hours in duration to long-term projects over the course of several months. For short support projects of one month or less, the BIIF intends to use the proposed "NAISS Small Compute/Storage 2023" umbrella project for quickly deploying GPU-intensive analyses.
