Periodontitis, a common oral immunopathology, has been associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). This project aims to assess the oral microbiome in patients with periodontitis and myocardial infarction. For this purpose, we use the PAROKRANK cohort, which is a multidisciplinary study aiming to investigate the relationship between oral pathology and CVD. We hypothesize that patients who had a myocardial infarction have an altered microbiome and that it underlines the association between periodontitis and CVD.
