Abstract

The associations of different protein biomarkers with risk of cardiometabolic disease have not been fully established. The aim of this project is to assess the role of protein biomarkers (proteomics) for risk of various cardiometabolic diseases, with focus on ischemic heart disease (myocardial infarction), ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortic valve stenosis, venous thromboembolism, and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
