We have granted a new research project "Investigating multi-centennial climate variability using the Earth System Model". Within the project, we planned to run several Long transient simulations with the earth system model EC-Earth for the past warm and cold climates. The long transient simulations will use Bolin Centre and scmip large computation project resources. We request to continue our medium project for the test runs and cmorisation for the output. We also committed to contributing to developing EC-Earth4 for the low-resolution version. The tunning and testing for EC-Earth4 will be done with this medium project. Our modelling group now consists of one senior scientist (myself) actively running the model simulations, four PhD students, and one master student.
